Frischzelle at 20
With the double anniversary 2025 of the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, the exhibition series “Frischzelle” is also celebrating its twentieth year. After initially changing exhibition spaces, it established a permanent setting within the museum’s collection galleries—one that continues to challenge young artists from the region every year. Their works enter into an immediate dialogue with already established positions, providing new impulses and offering a fresh perspective on the museum’s holdings.
On the occasion of this anniversary, the museum presents for the first time a selection of works that, following their initial presentation in “Frischzelle,” were subsequently acquired for the collection. Together with a concurrently published catalogue, the exhibition provides an overview of all 31 installments of the series.
The show features works by Katinka Bock, Benjamin Bronni, Michał Budny, Stefan Burger, Melanie Dorfer, Luka Fineisen, Otto D. Handschuh, Gereon Krebber, Pia Maria Martin, Ann-Kathrin Müller, Peles Duo, Anahita Razmi, Albrecht Schäfer, Alexander Schellow, Stefanie Trojan, and Nasan Tur.
