Frischzelle_22: Raphael Sbrzesny
In the “Frischzelle_22” Raphael Sbrzesny (*1985 in Oberndorf a. N.) exhibited new works that represent different artistic figures or—to use his own terminology—“interpreters.” In the 30-minute video work “L’Histoire du Soldat” (2015), Sbrzesny slips into the role of a military musician who drums a reduced version of Igor Stravinsky’s music theater of the same name on horseback. New groups of works developed especially for the exhibition space also present the “Son,” the “King,” the “Eumel,” and the “Doctor.” With the latter, the artist refers to the Stuttgart psychiatrist, art collector and filmmaker Ottomar Domnick.
