Frischzelle_23: Melanie Dorfer
Melanie Dorfer’s (b. 1986 in Sindelfingen) art transcends the boundaries of painting limited to the plane. It is characterized by organic forms, intense colors, and a keen attention to material. Most of her works are site specific. They refer to the particular space and its structures such that she integrates given corner configurations and wall edges into her painting, for instance, or allows the image carrier and wall to fuse. For the exhibition, Dorfer developed a large-scale wall installation that refers to the special architectural situation of the exhibition rooms. Also on view were smaller works in which the artist explores the interplay of form and color.
