Georg Winter: Fleeting Quake. Epicenter for Psychomotorics/Performance/Interaction (EPSY)
On July 6, 2012 the Stuttgart artist Georg Winter was awarded the Hans-Molfenter-Award 2011 in a ceremony in the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. On the occasion of this distinction, which is granted every three years by the State Capital of Stuttgart, works by the current award winner were on view in the museum. With art projects such as “Ukiyo Camera Systems: Bureau of Development for Camera Technology and New Media” Georg Winter is among the important activists of “expanded media” and space-based experimental art.
For the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart he developed installations that revolve around frequently used and ambiguous concepts like “agitation.” Awaiting the viewer, who is possibly exhausted—or even agitated—by a tour in the museum, were rest areas and solace-providing stops. For the first time Winter’s work was on view in a comprehensive museum exhibition in his hometown.
