Frischzelle_29: Hannah J. Kohler
The photo artist Hannah J. Kohler deals with self-perception and the perception of others, manifestations of femininity and social role models. In photo series, video works, and mixed media installations, she works with self-presentations that range from depictions of the primordial mother Gaia in Greek antiquity to current social prejudices. In doing so, she not only invokes art historical models, but also develops her own, sometimes humorous formal language.
Hannah J. Kohler (*1997 in Geislingen an der Steige) studied fine arts and photography at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart. The "Frischzelle_29" was her first solo museum exhibition.
