Frischzelle_29: Hannah J. Kohler
The photo artist Hannah J. Kohler examines the themes of self-perception and the perception of others, various manifestations of femininity, social perception and social role models as well as subjective judgement in her artistic work. In photo series, drawings, video works and mixed-media installations she creates a connection between individuals and complex systems of our society. In doing so, she not only refers to art historical role models that have influenced her work, but also develops her very own and at times humorous style. Her works invite us to question our own viewing habits and patterns of behaviour.
Hannah J. Kohler (*1997 in Geislingen an der Steige) studied fine art and photography at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart (Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart). The “Frischzelle_29” will be her first solo museum exhibition.
